Main Level: 3800 square feet with soaring 34 foot high ceilings, stunning windows, glazed concrete floors, and original elements of the building including a steel gantry crane.

Lower Level: A cozy space for more intimate events, under 50 people, equipped with tables, a kitchenette, and a soft seating area.

Private Events: Whether in the grand main level or the intimate lower level, The Substation can provide the perfect venue for weddings, birthday parties, fundraising events, galas, corporate retreats, trainings and strategy sessions.

Donated Events: The Substation is committed to donating its space for one event per quarter, to an organization or project that aligns with our value of community building, celebrates artistic expression, and highlights the historic building through innovative use of the space.

We prioritize events that:

  • Are BIPOC, woman, and/or LGBTQI+ run

  • Are open to the public as free or ticketed events

  • Celebrate the arts

  • Focus on social services that directly impact our Boston-area communities
