Movie Night: Fundraiser for Substation Community Supporters!

Join The Boston Home Team for a movie night at The Substation in support of Substation Community Supporters! The Boston Home Team is sponsoring a double feature - with a family friendly movie and an adults-only movie - on Friday, May 17. We'll have free popcorn and beer and wine for sale! Bring your own lawn chairs, cushions, blankets, or perch on one of our benches.

Circus Mixtape Vol. 2

The Circus 617 Mixtape Series returns to The Substation!

Circus Mixtape Vol. 2 is a collaboration between eight circus performers and four musicians. For each act, an acrobat and a musician were paired together to make something entirely new that could not exist without their collaboration. Join musicians Rachel Barringer, Camille Charlier, Anthony Leva, and Miles Wilder alongside aerialists, jugglers, and more for an afternoon of circus, bold ideas, and brand-new sounds you won’t see anywhere else. Curated & presented by Circus 617.

The circus artists of Circus Mixtape Vol. 2 are Rachel Barringer, Tim Ellis, Alissa Feller, Shir Livne, Aliza Razell, Annelise Thompson, Ezra Varley, and Ellen Waylonis. The show is produced and emceed by Mandy Hackman.

This show is being presented in Roslindale, MA at The Substation through the Commonwealth Circus Center & Circus Up circus residency there.

Through music, stories, and art-making, we will celebrate Haiti's culture and honor the freedom fighters whose slave rebellion gave birth to the first Black Republic in the modern world.

A Far Cry Community Concert

AFC invites you to join us for a free family concert in downtown Roslindale at the Substation. The first hour of the event, families with young kiddos are invited to enjoy a short, participatory, kid-focused musical presentation, after which the musicians will take a break and you’ll have a chance to socialize and grab a beer on-site from 67 Degrees Brewing.
At 6:00pm we’ll transition to a quieter sit-down chamber music concert setup and perform selection from our upcoming concert program, Animal Banter.

Free! Pre-registration encouraged as space is limited.

The BPDA is hosting an open house to officially kick off the 6-9 month planning and engagement process for the Roslindale Square Squares + Streets plan! At this event, community members can learn more about the Squares + Streets planning & zoning processes while helping us understand their priorities, history, and hopes for Roslindale Square. 

Childcare, translation services in Haitian Creole and Spanish, and light refreshments will be provided for meeting attendees. Please note that on-site childcare will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis with limited capacity.
