Eins, zwei, drei - Polka! Learn the steps to this lively traditional dance seen at Oktoberfest in Munich and featured in festivals around the world. Together we'll focus on the basics to have you and your partner galloping across the floor in no time. We'll learn the history of the Polka, and mix in a few other dances and games to ensure movers of all ages and abilities have fun during this celebration!

Polka Dance Workshop: 2 - 3PM

Alexandria (Alex) Nunweiler is a Boston-local dancer, choreographer, and educator whose work spans contemporary and traditional genres. She has led community workshops and events for the last decade, guided by her core belief that dance is for everybody and every body. Her work has been featured in the ATLAS program at ImPulsTanz in Vienna, Austria, as a Dancermaker Resident at the Boston Center for the Arts, and currently as a cohort member of Curriculum in Motion at Jacob's Pillow. She first learned to polka from her father, Gunther, when she was a child and has been spinning to the Lichensteiner Polka (her favorite) ever since.
