The Channel, Green Street Station, Chet’s Last Call, TT The Bears, Bunratty’s, etc.? These Boston music veterans have headlined them all and they’re still rocking strong! With a classic rock vibe, a garage heart, and hints of reggae, surf and punk, this woman-fronted fun bar band knows how to rock! It’s always a good time when The Lucky Bastids play!

Dance class with Ej from EJ Studios! @ejdancestudio who is skilled in various dance styles. Join us and learn some new moves. We’re also collaborating with Midnight Morning for a social mixer before and after the dance class.

Admission to the dance class is $15, but entry to the Midnight Morning mixer is free. Midnight Morning is a local restaurant and bar, 5 minute walk from the Substation. 

We aim to make this a fun and accessible experience for everyone. While no alcoholic drinks will be served at the Substation, Midnight Morning will have alcoholic beverages available before and after the class, perfect for mingling and socializing.

Rebirth, Reimagine: 3D Art Exhibit, sponsored by Substation Community Supporters, will have its closing reception and panel conversation starting at 1pm.

Substation Community Supporters brings a haunting night of circus and dance this Friday! DJ Troy Frost and Rilla Force will keep you dancing all night, while enveloped in a liquid light show from Sons Lunaris and surrounded by roving circus acts from Commonwealth Circus Center! You’ll also be dazzled by 5 electrifying aerial performances, at 9pm and 10:30pm.

Don your best costume and hit the dance floor at this FREE event, brought to you by Substation Community Supporters through a Wake Up the Night grant from the City of Boston. The Substation's bar will be open with a selection of craft beer, wine, cider, and Halloween-themed cocktails.

Substation Community Supporters is a non-profit established exclusively to support the historic preservation of the substation building and public-facing arts and cultural programming in the space.

Families are welcome to the Beer Hall from 4 to 7 pm, brought to you this week by Substation Community Supporters. Buenos Aires will be back with their delicious baked empanadas!

What would it mean to return to the past and reimagine it? You are invited to Rebirth, Reimagine, Return, an immersive collage workshop for anyone who has been mothered. Facilitated by visual artist mamas Annika Sarin and Tanya Nixon-Silberg this workshop aims to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore the profound impact of colonization on their inner child. All are welcomed and the needs of BIPOC folks will be prioritized.

This workshop is open to all levels of artistic experience. Whether you're a seasoned artist or new to creative expression, you'll find a welcoming and supportive environment to connect. You bring a photo of yourself as a child, and we will happily supply the collaging materials, pizza, music, good vibes.

AFC invites you to join us for a free family concert in downtown Roslindale at the Substation. The first hour of the event, families with young kiddos are invited to enjoy a short, participatory, kid-focused musical presentation, after which the musicians will take a break and you’ll have a chance to socialize.
Snacks will be available for sale, and feel free to bring your own food/drink to enjoy during the show.
At 6:00pm we’ll transition to a quieter sit-down chamber music concert setup and perform selections from our season premiere FLEETING MELODIES on September 21st in Jamaica Plain!
